Monoprice MP10 Guides and Manuals

1 How to Maintain

Like most mechanical objects, your 3D printer needs regular maintenance to perform at peak performance. Here are some tips and tricks to keep in mind.

  • Always remove the filament completely when you have finished printing for the day. Allowing the filament to cool in the nozzle can cause clogging and further complications.
  • Preheat the nozzle to 220°C to clear a clog, then manually push the inserted filament with more force than the printer’s extruder motor can exert.
  • Always double‑check the level of your print bed. Printers with Auto‑Leveling may need the offset adjusted. This will be a unique value for every printer. The space between the nozzle and the print bed should be 0.1mm, the thickness of a sheet of standard printer paper.

2 How to Install

All instructions assume you are looking at the front of the printer during assembly.

  • Use the packaging material to lay the printer on its side so that you can see the holes on the bottom.
  • Place the printer on its feet so you can access both sides.
  • The Z-Axis Lead Screw is stored inside the Left Y Axis Carriage Bar and is secured in place using two plastic brackets.
  • Using the included 3mm hex wrench, loosen the screw in the top of the motor coupling so that the Z Axis Lead Screw can be inserted.
  • Insert the Z Axis Lead Screw through the hole in the top of the frame, then thread it through the hole on the extruder housing until the unthreaded portion of the screw is fully inserted into the motor coupling.
  • Fix the LCD Display Module for the printer frame.
  • Align the t-nuts in the frame with the holes on the filament holder, then using the 2.5mm hex wrench and 2x M4x6 screws, secure the filament holder to the frame.
  • Mount the extruder hotend to the bracket on the X-Axis Gantry by aligning the positioning rods and magnets.
  • Plug the three cable connectors into the appropriate connections on the front left side of the Left Y Axis Carriage, beneath the Z Axis Lead Screw storage location referenced in step 3 above.
